We work across the UK, and although our practical projects are weighted towards the north of England and Scotland, we undertake consultancy commissions across the UK and overseas in the field of renewable heating.  Our particular specialisms are in biomass boilers and district heating systems, but we also work on air, ground and water source heat pumps, solar thermal integration and on fossil-fired plant where it is operating in a backup role.

We are first and foremost a renewable energy company, and have been playing an active role in developing the UK's low carbon heat industry for a decade, with several of our team members tracing their industry roots back for close to 20 years.

Our client list includes the likes of the National Trust, for whom we've delivered several district heating schemes for properties in the north, as well as local authorities, several housing associations, the NHS and many private companies, ranging from traditional estates with district micro-grids, to some of the largest private district heating scheme operators in the country.  We have worked on a significant number of problem district heating schemes, ranging in size from less than a dozen properties to over a thousand, and are often retained by our clients after our initial involvement to help continue to optimise and improve reliabilty and performance.  Our consultancy clients are as diverse as BEIS, Marks and Spencer and Caledonia Housing Association in the UK, and the UNDP, EU and Deutche Bank for projects overseas.
